Latest News - May 2025 Update

Since the public consultation period ended on 2nd March 2025 for the proposed development of Bruche Academy we have been reviewing the feedback and considering the detailed plans. We appreciate the involvement of all those who shared in the consultation and value the time taken to share views.

An extensive process of surveying has been ongoing to provide the information needed to fully inform the development. We are currently seeking a date to make a full planning submission with an updated proposal, and expect a timeline to be confirmed this month. We will share further information when these are ready.

In the meantime, if there are questions or comments please contact the design team via bruche.academy@bakermallett.com.

In December 2024, we were pleased to announce that at the cabinet meeting of Warrington Borough Council, funding to build a new two-form entry secondary school at the Bruche Primary Academy site was approved. Now we have prepared plans to share details of the new build in a public consultation.

Consultation Launch

From 10th February until 2nd March 2025 we are seeking views from our school and surrounding community on how to transform Bruche Primary Academy School into an All Through School and allowing children to continue their education with us until Year 11.

As you may have read in the local media, the total secondary school population is expected to swell significantly over the next six years, due to the large primary school population moving into secondary schools, migration into Warrington and popularity with families living outside the borough. Therefore, this development is vital to meet the borough’s rapidly expanding need for more secondary school places.

The demolition of Bruche’s derelict infant block will free up the space required for the new two-storey building. As this will be a long term change we have shared plans below.
